For anyone planning on retrofitting either OEM or aftermarket subs behind the seats as I did a while ago, I have some of the parts you'll need for sale.

Some of this lot was only in my car for a couple of months before I removed it to trade in:

2 x OEM grilles £60.50 (unused, new condition, in original boxes)
2 x Soft boxes £15.86 (used and removed from the car - one has a tear in it but this does not matter in the slightest) (part 9 in diagram below)
2 x Rubber grommet / sleeve for the bass reflex port £5.10 (part 10 in diagram below)
12 x blind rivet nuts for fitting the covering plates £6.60 (part 3 in diagram below)

Total cost new £88. Yours for £60 + £5 delivery.

Please no offers at the moment - I will wait to see if anyone wants it at the reasonable asking price before considering offers.

Thanks for looking.

What size speakers/subs does this take?

I presume part 6 (the mounting plate for the speaker) is also needed to fit them in? Anyone know the cost of that part if it's required?

I was using oval shaped 6 x 9 subs so I made my own mounting plates out of MDF pretty easily. I've got a Photoshop template I made if that's any help.

The official parts are numbers 65126915849 and 65126915850 and are roughly £10.85 each. They are either 6 or 6.5 inch - I can find out if you like.

Interesting

Did you have a DSP professional hifi?

I thought the output from the amp wouldn't work with a standard speaker, aren’t the OEM sub 10 ohms or something?

How's it sound?

I had the most basic system with no amps, so I installed an amp myself and took a speaker level input from the rear speakers.

Sound was ok, a definite improvement, but the subs and amp together were only £100 so wasn't expecting miracles. If I were to do it again I would get a better amp / sub combo but I have the DSP now anyway.

i see you have the coupe, would these be the same for the roadster. I'm guessing it would but just wanted to make sure.

I'm interested but would need to research Sub/amp combo.

I too have the most basic 6 speaker non DSP at the moment. Just installed a DICE but is really quiet.

What would you buy? How does the amp connect to the head unit?

**Ignore** - Sorry I posted a reply to previous post but as this is a sales thread I didn't want to interfere with it and go off track. I'll PM the poster to advise generally on his question
