I doubt I'll get many bites from here, but it can't hurt....

Bought just a few weeks ago from Mangoletsi. I've decided it's not quite the car for me and if I can get a reasonable price, I'm happy to take the financial hit and move onto something else.

Pics will come in a day or two, when I get it back from Mango's.

Specs-
Brera SV 2.4JTDM 2006
Red with Black/grey leather
60k miles
18" alloys, some light curbing/scuffs
Mangoletsi installed Mod 2 for aprox 230 bhp
Full Mangoletsi service history with the last done when I bought it, around 1,000 miles ago
5 Months tax, 11 Months MOT
Front bumper resprayed 1 month ago.
Lower side sills and door edges being painted whilst it's currently at Mango's. Plastic arch protectors will also be replaced. This is taking them 2-3 days at the paint shop, so I expect a thorough job.
It will also be having some other little niggles sorted under warranty.

Looking for £12,500

It currently has a private plate on, when I get some serious interest, ie. a viewing, the plate will be removed.

When it returns from Mangoletsi, the paintwork will be in excellent condition apart from the leading edge of the bonnet, which has the typical stone chips but not enough to warrant a respray.

I'd have been interested a month ago before I got the Z4, but then without the Z4 I wouldn't have seen the advert :D

The Brera are lovely looking cars, I was a very close to getting one 8)
 
Yeah, if it sells, it sells, if people want to start making low offers, it stays.
It's by no means an awful car, but it's just not quite what I'm looking for. I still looks stunning though.

Maybe we should do a swap ;)
 
I gave the car a quick clean today and was nicely impressed by the repaitning they've done of the areas around the wheel arches, lower sills and lower door edges. The plastic protecting the rear arches has also been replaced.
The drivers side rear window was replaced to improve the radio reception, and the black strip that surrounds the drivers side windows has also been replaced since it was corroded.

The car is looking really nice now, but I'm still open to selling it at £12,500 and getting something like a Boxster or another Z4.

Anyway, here are some pics, not great as the light was fading and I seemed to have messed up half the photo's I took :rolleyes: But they atleast show how clean the usual trouble areas are. The front bumper is similarly clean since it was sprayed last month.

I love the look of them, but the quality is just so not there.

If only they used Italian designer and had the cars built somewhere else ...
 
No idea why anyone would want to own an Alpha. Balls off to Jeremy Cockend Clarkson and his mutual masturbation friends - they're overpriced, unreliable and sometimes underpowered (for what they are) pieces of badge-only tat. No reason to buy them over other comparable cars in their relative classes other than that bloody name.

They're not that bad....
Build quality is ok now, it is looked after by a German now, ex Bentley head of quality. The interior is nice and solid and the whole car weighs an awful lot since they tried to improve quality, there's just a few areas that let it down. The worst being the indicator stalks, which feel like they're out of a 90's Citreon. Electrical problems seem to be the biggest issue now, but from what I've seen VW's are quite bad for electrical gremlins too. All cars have their faults.
 
Biggest problem with my 147 was electrical gremlins that always seemed to be non-existant when the car was at the mothership dealer :headbang:

That and the fact the dashboard kept cracking and sounding like it was gonna fall on top of your knees all the time...

other than that is was great when not at the dealers :thumbsup:
 
Just in case anyone is interested.
I've reduced the asking price to £12,300 on PistonHeads and ebay. I'll accept offers a little lower than this though, as I've got my eye on a couple of cars :thumbsup:

Or if someone wants to trade me thier 3.0 Z4 with some cash my way....
I'm also interested in either a 530i or 330i from around 2000-2003.

Totally disagree! I had a 145QV and a Spider Ph2 and loved them both as great cars, neither had any faults that stood out except slightly higher than usual servicing costs (at an indi) and the twinspark's huge thirst for oil.

May sound crazy but even though stepping into a brand new /MR from the Spider was a huge leap forward, I immediately missed the soul of the Alfa that was present in both cars, even though the Zed is monumentally good.

That's a beautiful car - good luck with the sale.
 
Houses lead to need for furniture and decor, women arrive on the scene, expense goes up and cars get practical. Downward spiral :thumbsdown:
 
Haha CJ trust me I'm feeling the pain right now - especially the woman bit :)

We even discussed 4x4 when we get little ones :oops:
