Folding mirrors keep getting stuck in the up position

As per the title, while they do fold up as usual they now get stuck up there when i press the button to fold them down. Also the passenger's side is usually just a tad slower than the driver's side which is weird... I can hear the mechanism whirring for a few seconds but they wont fold back down and have to do it manually...

Any suggestions? Some way to spray lubricant in the mechanism? Anything else i should try?

Thanks!

In our narrow town roads you need to save all the width you can when you park your car...

Broken limit switch? Are there any other noises? If they are both getting stuck then it could be something more power related. What about checking for fault codes; may throw something up in the mirror power wiring.

I'll try and check if i find where i stashed my OBDII cable. They're now both getting stuck up. When i click to fold them down i can see them moving about a centimetre and then they stop. No other noises apart from what would normally be the motors folding them down. Maybe i'll try to shoot a clip and show you guys tomorrow.

Unlikely to be anything phyically broken if they're both suffering. Surely an electrical fault. Post a clip when you can. Somebody will have the answer

In hot, sandy climates it's entirely possible it could do with lubricating/cleaning out. Not sure how the cap comes off, but as soon as you manage that I have no doubt you'd find something worth oiling

Yes out here there's plenty of items suitable for applying oil on.. Oh i see you were talking about the mirrors.
