Fogging and Condensation in rear lights

Hi
Can any one help?
I purchased my Z4 (23i sdrive '59') last Sept. On colder and wetter days the rear light clusters fog which then turns into condensation. This rarely dries out at this time of year and as a result creates a reservior of water in both rear clusters. Ive now had these replaceed by the BMW dealer who sold it to me 4 times since last Sept! They still fog and collect water!!
Has anyone come across this, and if so were you able to fix this and how?

I would keep pestering them. I had same problem in mini taillights ad I had it replaced under warranty but it kept doing it, ended up having some mold appear after a couple months. My mini comes to end of agreement in couple month and I an wanting it fixed again before I try sell it

Yep mine been replaced Im worried after wty runs out and they do the same. My last zds had issues with the indicators and fog lights all replaced but after wty its gonna cost.

My fronts did mist and the dealer had a look, all ok at the moment.

Mine been done twice now :headbang:
Once at two weeks old (from new) and once in January at 2nd service. (when the also replaced rear alloys foc) :poke:

Just had o/s unit replaced under warranty due to moisture build up. The n/s was also done the day after i collected the Z from the dealer last summer.

I had my new Z4 delivered about 6weeks ago, on the first time of driving it the offside rear indicator stopped working when I come to exam it sure enough it was full of condensation,I took it to my local dealer to get it sorted, having bought it from a dealer 100 miles away, they were very obliging and said they would take it into the workshop and fit a new bulb !!!!!! I know its an LED unit but obviously somebody didn't so after waiting nearly an hour they came back to me to say they could not repair it, and could I come back in a couple of days and they would order me a new unit, so I told them I thought this seemed a common problem and that I thought that there was a 'vehicle enhancment' for this, but I was told they knew nothing about it ,so 2days later I'm back again, car in workshop, wait nearly 2hrs only to be told they couldn't fit the new unit because there had been a modification to this part which they hadn't ordered, eureka the message's got through at last, so after a third visit and 5hours of wasted time I got it sorted. On discussing the problem with the tech guy after to see what was causing the water ingress he told me that the light unit is fitted to the car with a push in pin at each end and in the centre at the top and bottom a threaded pin, apparently where the top pin is fitted is putting too much strain on the light unit and pulling the back of the unit away fron the lens, result water in the unit.

Check out my roof tray thread, which also turned into a lamp cluster thread lol... looks like they've only just released a sealant kit to resolve this.

having the same problem so much water in the rear N/S indicator that it is not working, local dealer is picking car up wednesday to sort out
Is there anything I should insist they change as only 6 months left on warranty :|

I'll add my name to the list of people who have had this issue. The car is 5 weeks old and the driver-side tail light has condensation in it.

Service guy at Eastern checked the boot for signs of damp and asked whether I had put anything wet in there. I hadn't and there was no signs of damp anywhere so I'm waiting for a date to drop the car off for investigation.

I'm guessing the only real cure is a new light cluster?

Mine are both completely dry at the moment, but they really don't seem to like damp, wet weather... Earlier on in the year one of them had quite a number of drops sitting along the indicator strip.

Mines just back from the recall (something to do with sealing foils and grommets) so I'm hopefull they're ok permanently now.
