Flex Disc Replacement

Hello all.


I've tracked my clunking and vibrating driveshaft woes to the flex disc.

My local garage are going to put it up on a ramp and check, but I'm confident this will be the issue. I'm going to order the part for them to fit, and a search on other forums seems to indicate that I an fit this part:

FEBI BILSTEIN 43466

It's apparently OEM.

My question is, is this correct? Also do you advise I buy the part, or let the garage sort it. The FEBI one is about half the price of others I'm seeing online.

It’s worth doing the prop shaft centre bearing at the same time

I had mine done a couple of years ago and stopped the irritating clunk!!

Let the garage source and fit it - then when it goes wrong its their problem to sort it.

Why would it go wrong?
You only get a year on parts warranty only.
If the garage supply they will add markup to the parts price.

exactly - to cover that risk. You supply parts and they are faulty - the garage isn't going to help you out and you may well have to pay again.

Part of my thinking is just shortening time, it's my daily!

I'll get the bearing done too, anyone know which one I need?
