Fitting springs to shocks

What would you all say is a fair price for assembling a pair of front shocks and springs?

All new parts so car isn't being touched, I just don't like playing with spring compressors!
 
I have just had my springs replaced. I supplied the springs and the garage fitted for £110+VAT. Obviously more work involved as mine were on the car so shouldnt be any more than £100 IMO. Realistically shouldnt be more than £50?

Sorry, mis-read the original post. Mine was front and back.

With the shocks being off the car would cost hardly anything I would say. Not even half hours work. I would say a back street garage would be best bet/charge the least.
 
Take struts/springs etc to a local garage, pick a quiet time flash some pound notes and £10-20 should do it!
I agree spring compressors with such short springs.............I didnt enjoy it! so took them to my local garage second time!
 
Yes, but I was wondering if his price was for fitting new springs all round ;)

I was thinking £20-30 but a local chap quoted me £60. Perhaps he thought all 4 needed doing... I just wanted to check I was expecting a fair amount.
 
It literally takes 5 minutes if you have a separate spring and strut and just want to mount the spring to the strut.

It's difficult if you have normal DIY compressors, but a proper garage will have the correct tools to compress the spring enough to get the top mount on.
 
If you fitting a pair of lowering springs you might not need compressors, I didn't when I removed a set. Originals you definitely will

Same as that. No need for spring compressors if you're fitting a set of lowering springs, the whole job should only take 20 mins.
