Fitting rear coilovers

Anyone shed any light on fitting rear Stance coilovers to my E85? I’ve read that the adjuster sits at the top of the spring but it doesn’t seat in the mount, looks like it would seat better fitted to the bottom?

Thanks

Take a look at this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JHWmN3T-OwI&t=486s and the comments left about where to put the adjuster on the rear . Hope it helps .

smaller diameter to the mount?

I know this might sound like it wont work but have you tried fitting the rubber top of the old spring to the adjuster and then onto the top mount as on the BC coilovers I fitted to mine ?

Thanks mate, yeah I’ve tried that and again doesn’t fit. Think I’ll just ditch the adjuster for now - hopefully not too low!

Sorry I couldn`t help you anymore . I`m sure someone on here must have fitted the Stance coilovers so hopefully you will get an answer later . If not then low is the way to go

Can you modify the rubber to fit in the adjuster?
I'd be tempted to ring Stance first though and ask them what you should do, I'm sure they will be able to help.

Yeah I’m hoping for my sakes they’ve sent the wrong ones as this isn’t looking too good… and this is just the bare spring! 😂

Ok, I know it's a little off topic, but why do they call them coilovers when the spring is still about a foot away from the damper?

I think they are called a divorced set up when the damper is separate from the spring but as to why they are still called coilovers I don`t know apart from maybe that they come as a set and the fronts are coilovers not divorced. :)

As Dark Diggler says best talk to Stance or if possible where you bought them from . Keep us updated .

Ah, I see. Thanks.
I wonder if they went through a trial separation first?

They replied on Monday to say that they were looking into it but I haven’t heard since. The cars settled a bit but still higher at passenger side for some reason…

I take it the car was on level ground when set up . I though my garage floor was level but it wasn`t .

This is a bit frustrating. I really fancy giving these ago but I'd rather not waste my time buying them to have the same fitment issues. The YouTuber linked to on this thread had similar fitment woes and in the end you've got to wonder why it doesn't work..

Yeah I wouldn’t recommend the rear set up at the moment but Stance say I’ve to send over the dimensions and they’ll try sort something out….
