Fitting Bilstein B4s

Hi guys,

My car is on 19s with Eibach springs and Powerflex front bushes.

As my standard shocks have done about 50k now, I figure a change of dampers might be in order.

Comfort is highest on the agenda and after scouring the Internet Bilstein B4s seem like the way to go, reportedly offering a mild performance improvement over standard but OEM type ride quality.

However, I have seen talk of normal B4s, plus B4 'sports', the latter being designed for cars with lowered suspension.

I can't find any B4 sports however and Bilstein UK didn't respond to my email enquiry asking for clarification.

Can anyone shed any light on this or recommend what I should be looking for?

Hi James
I think Jembo has fitted these, give him a private message

I have gaz shocks which I think are great, based in Essex if googled they have a website

I wouldn't touch anything Gaz with a barge pole. Known to be leaky as anything (from owners in a variety of different applications)

As for trying to source the Bilsteins, speak to Dips at Custom Cars.

http://www.thecustomcars.com/

He's well known on a variety of forums and can get hold of bilstein kit.

Thanks guys, will contact Jembo for some feedback and go from there.

Evening, I went the uprated B6 instead of the std B4's.

Very surprised as they're not in any way harsh, just very controlled...

Biggest issue in my roadster was getting access to the top mount nuts, which involves removing the rear shelf & getting physically firm with some tight fitting bits of plastic. Some trial & error later, check out the how to section as took some photos to help others
