Fitted Bumper Plugs

Well popped on my Bumper Plugs today not 100% on the boot lock may have to remove and reduce the diameter as will not sit inside the crome so not flush but will then need to respray.

The drivers door looks OK and they are both an easy fit just need to trim some plastic from the prongs that insert into the lock and job done.

Will leave them on for a while as see how i feel just not sure if they look a bit Halfords/Ripspeed

Thanks 20D one thing i was suprised at was the line where the key would slot in as you can see in the last 2 pics i thought they would be completely smooth suppose its how they get the mold

I used touch up paint and a foam block to stick the plug in while it dried horizontally. The paint flowed to the edge and covered without any brush marks. Then I gave it another thin coat of paint followed by a coat of clearcoat. Done deal.

That looks a lot better what sort of paint did you use on the rubber ? as i would have thought normal paint would crack when refitting the rubber surround

Actually painted without removing it. BMW touch-up paint applied with small high quality brush, then finished off with clear coat. Would not aim a high pressure jet of water at it but other than that, hasn't peeled at all.

Looks like a nice little detail that most won't notice but it's still worth it
