First Z4.

Have been planning a convertible for months now. Our first choice was a Mazda MX5 but now realise they have such rust problems. So we are now moved to the Z4.

Last weekend tested a 2.2 & 2.5 manual and a 2.5 auto. We think we will go for a manual 2.2/2.5 in black with red leather. Should we also think about the 3.0.



Our budget will be 5ish. If we wait till winter what sort of age of car could this budget get us. I also like it in the bright flat red but they seem to be thin on the ground and really expensive.

I don't think you will have a huge choice with your budget but I think it could be done.

Keep an eye out on here, however if your only looking for red on black you will need to be lucky as your already limited by your budget. Maybe save up an extra few quid before winter?

Ps red on black is best colour combo and adds 20bhp :)

I wouldn't discount the 3.0 unless there's reasons you've not been looking at them.
As you say, red roasters are very rare so you may need to have a rethink on colour.
5k is at the bottom of the market so you should get an 03 or 04.

Definitely don't discount the 3.0 .................... as they say" there ain't no replacement for cubic displacement" Very good on fuel also and smile factor :!: .
Lucky escape from the MX5 :wink:
