First Service at 17,500 miles

Just got back from my first service which cost me £280 (this included a new set of wiper blades)

Just a couple of niggly issues with my Z -

After repeated use, paint is coming off interior roof operating buttons (replacements are on order)
Roof window synchronisation when raising the top is still an ongoing and unresolved issue! (Apparently, BMW still working on a fix)

Overall, still loving my Z and it seems to be going better than ever after being serviced............. :D

Is the roof and window thing just not normal??
Mine does it most times on and off I just hit window button after it drops a whole 3 secs of my life wasted

Wow, £280 for the first service sounds quite steep, particularly if it is an oil change only (+ wipers). It makes the 5yr/60,000 mile, £300 service inclusive seem like very good value.

5-year Service inclusive for £300 is very good value for money. The car will need 2 oil changes (around £120 each), 2 brake fluid changes (£100 each), at least 1 microfilter change (say £40), 1 inspection check (say £100), and even engine oil top-up (£15 per litre) included.

Micky Dee - I have the same problem with the roof closing and the windows then opening slightly again. Shambolic - it may only take 5 secs to press the window close button again but it should work properly. Took mine to the dealers and they could not fix it so they have sent a request to BMW for a fix - a form called a 'PUMA' I understand. Still waiting for a response. See this earlier thread http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=20426&p=292313#p292313

All windows are closed properly by holding the button pressed after closing the roof on my 23i (touch wood).

Have completed 13,000 miles, service indicator states a further 13,000 miles to go, wonder how everyone else is fairing on mileage between service.

Have a few little niggles with mine too, lots of squeaks and rattles emanating from the roof with the top up, plastic bracket that holds the boot protector to the frame snapped last week and paint that chips far to easily. I would have to say that the build quality of my old Audi A4 cab was noticeably better, however all the niggles seem to disappear as soon as I press the go pedal
