Steph and I were glad to get out in the Zed this weekend. Seems like an age since we were last out (about a week  ). We headed for some roads we'd read about in a couple of driving magazines to check them out for possible future runs and fell in love again with the incredible landscape of Northumberland. It feel so remote and ancient, unspoilt and vast. Just have to turn off the main roads and you head into hidden valleys and hamlets and simply following the main arterial routes takes you to some brilliantly open views.

Just love being out in the Zed

nice work.... car looks great on the black wheels

I keep going on about it but I prefer the wheels when they are grey with road muck as it makes them less noticeable - I still prefer the OE look of multi-spoke silvers. (Though if you haven't read before these are also 27kg lighter and that's one of the reasons I thought I'd try them).

Those roads look very inviting Paul - good to see the two of you out and about enjoying the driving :driving:

Thanks Marlon (I know you're a fellow enthusiast for getting out there :D ) - the beauty of Northumberland is that there are routes that can really test you at licence friendly speeds (lots of challenging twisties - we've got some brilliant roads) and then beautifully remote and quiet back waters to burble through and enjoy. All fabulous with the roof down

Looks a great place for a drive

Yep, it certainly is beatman - we call Northumberland our playground (literally on our doorstep) - it's vast and as said above, offers a great range of roads.

Looking forward to the drive on these roads whenever it's happening!
Have missed meeting up with other Zeds last 3 months or so! :(

Looks like you have stumbled upon some nice roads there Paul :driving:

Hiya Swiftly, hope you and Lorraine are well  No stumbling Nick - we headed out to see what one or two recommendations were like - lovely quiet roads but a little limited for our type of run . . . .we shall see.

Looks great Paul, just like Essex
Regards

My wife's family live in the centre of the Fens - long straight single track level roads with lots of subsidence

Hiya Richard, would be good to meet up with you and Julie again as well. We're hoping to post up a first run end of Feb. beginning of March - keep an eye on the forum.

Nice to see your not hibernating, those empty roads look inviting, not been out in mine for two weeks but going out shortly for a bimble, its actually dry down here.
Will have go come up there again .serious fun. :driving:

Hi Maurice, hope you're well  It's a case of getting out when you can with this weather :(
Read on the forum that you've got a few foreign trips arranged this season - nice one

Wow........if only the roads in Surrey were that quiet. I can dream!
