All ok so far , no nasty knocks or clunks , temps seemed ok.still need to douce or check for oil leaks . 40 miles to the gallon, even put the roof down /up , but prayed both times !!

Good to know all went well, but if you're getting 40mpg you aren't driving it properly.

It's a thing, get used to it.
If I take the E89 to the supermarket on a nice day I will leave the roof down while in the shop, just in case. I would rather someone nicked the stuff from inside the car than the embarrassment of a half open roof!

If the roof gets stuck in public in a convertible, it's like seeing a Lamborghini broken down on the hard shoulder. Everyone thinks "that'll learn you, tosser!"

I remember my first proper spin in my z4. Took island bend at Oulton park a bit too quick, ended up backwards on the grass. Luckily stopped before I hit anything, though was a definite brown flag moment, island bend is a fast corner...

Ha ha , I’ve had my car for over 2 years and still pray every time I open/close it…..
Thats why BMW sell perfectly formed umbrellas that fit the door bins on the E89!, if the roof fails you put both up and it keeps the cabin dry.... I have the same emergency system fitted to my G29 now :smart:

I must be the only one that never gives a second thought to the roof, or if the engine will start etc.

Highest on my list of pains in the ass are little rattles / vibrations that I'm slowly working my way round :)
