First experience of the BMW breakdown service

Spent several hours cleaning the car for the Midlands breakfast club (thoguht i better make an effort), had the radio on, roof down, moved seats back and forward and guess what a flat battery. Yes i left the key in the igniton turned on, cannot believe how quick the battery drained. Is this just an M thing, as never had it happen with any other cars, is the battery capacity smaller?

Anyway learnt my lesson, did panic i had killed the car though.

The guy from BMW was very prompt and professional and completely understanding. Didnt get daft women driver off him, unlike my other half!

 to BMW breakdown service.

It's not just a women thing, I drained mine and had to be jump started on the ferry. Your right it does drain very quick

Yep, me too. One meet i was getting my previous Zed prepared for i was in my garage the night before cleaning the engine bay, put the headlights on to see what i was doing. Didnt have them on for long, but they sure did drain the battery. Luckily had a set of jump leads handy, along with my dad in his car :)

Exact same happened to me on my old M3 once. Apparently it's the Nav screen / GPS that saps the power?...as you say, I found them prompt, efficient and understanding! Sounds like they get called all the time for it LOL.
