Hi all as above really -im after taking it out of my e46 to put in the zed and i remember a few posts on here a while ago about the same subject but cant seem to find them-thanx

To remove the box you'll find a locking tab in the upper centre inside of the box about an inch back. Press (I think from memory) and then while pressed the box slides forward and out.

If you need the bracket too then that's 2 or 3 torx headed self tappers than hold it in.

Cheers for the reply cj-just been out to it and had a pull  -cant see a locking tab-and i cant see any screws holding it in either?

Well the tab is there exactly as described. Press it up and with the other hand pull the box forward. Just tested on mine so I'm 100% sure.

The screws are ony accesible once the box is removed as they hold the bracke onto the seat base

Believe it or not, I even have pictures of my first aid box online... it's hard to see from the inside, here's a picture of the top of the box, the big hole behind the latch is what CJ's referring too...

It is a bit fiddly, but like a lot of these things, do it once and it's easy thereafter.

Should be the same - when you say deeper, it's probably just the angle of the photo - the back part is shallower than the front, you can sort of see it on the right one below:

I have an original 2003 box and a second I bought new this year, both are identical.

Hi again chaps -had a proper look and mine does not have a hole in the top(in my e46)-it seems to have a bracket on both sides of it,that when you squeeze the sides in it should pull out but its stuck solid-its just me being tight i may as well buy one from the stealer in the new year

Andy,

have a look at this photo, looks like there are 4 screws or something on the top of the box,I roughly did it as I don't know what spec E46 you have:

Number 2 is the actual 1st aid box;
Number 3 is the bracket for the box.

having said this, had a look on ebay and boxes they sell on ebay for E46 looks identical to the one for Z4 :!:

The E46 first aid box should be identical to the Z4, but the brackets are likely to be different.

I'd imagine once fitted they can be a bugger to remove.. as even when i fitted my second box it was a tight fit getting in the first place. once that plastic tab goes is place prob would be a major pita to remove.

OK - so the box bracket is part number 52107045018, which is identical across all of E46, E53, E85 and E86.

Box 52107044958 is the same across all the above models too. Go figure that then??

I think the illustrations are rather generic as the above picture is nothing like the Z4 bracket, nor top of the box.

Aquazi - they are really easy to remove, but like everything it's technque, that the first time you wonder WTF. After that it's 5 seconds.
