Finally took some pics with the new calipers

They look superb!! Love those Apex wheels  Did you have to import from the US?

Cheers.

Not exactly, I got them from Baan Velgen in the Netherlands, so they handled the import for me.

Do those 245/40r18 tyres rub on the front at all?

Under very heavy braking on track they do rub very slightly on the wheel arch liner, but it is only the merest touch. Haven't experienced it on road at all. However, I mainly use Avon ZZRs on track and they are 225 and as you might expect don't rub.

 That is most awesome dude, loving the chunky tyre aspect, but really loving the blue caliper/grey wheels.

Haven't considered caliper upgrade, but man they look good

BTW, have seen on the US threads that most guys run a 9inch wheel on the front with the apex wheels, what sizes/offsets did you go with?

I went with:

18 x 8,5 ET35 Concave Profile 1 on the front
and
18 x 10 ET25 Concave Profile 3 on the rear

Mainly because this matches my track wheels and I wanted maximum flexibility and consistency when swapping tyres and wheels around.

Those brakes look great  I loved the fact that my Cerbera came with AP Racing brakes as standard from the factory I was always impressed by them.

Looking good, think I am swaying towards the look of the EC7 over the Arc 8 :-)

Just a quick question. Assuming I am going to run a 265 width tyre on the rear, what is the advantage of running a 10" wide rear wheel over a 9.5 wide wheel?

no advantage, person pref....

I actually prefer the look of the Arc 8 but the EC 7 has greater clearance for the calipers. That swayed the decision in the end.

Yeah I remember you mentioning that on another thread. I had a quick chat with Apex and they were under the impression that 18" Arc8s would clear the 380 Stoptech kit. When comparing the fitting templates from AP Racing and Stoptecs it appears the APs require less clearance than the Stoptechs. So the ARC8s should fit.

what info did you get form them? if only we could get someone to test the fitting template...

I'd have to go back over the mail exchange I had with them. They were very helpful.

I think you are right, the Arc 8s would clear the AP kit, though there are two versions of the AP BB caliper, one needs more clearance than the other and it's bl**dy difficult to work out which you have - the model number is etched on the under side of the caliper block, so you have to get the caliper right off.

It may have been to do with the offsets and the EC7 being a closer match to my current wheels - I certainly wanted them to match as closely as possible.
