So after an extended search, several missed opportunities, financial dramas and uncertainty..
I finally bought a Zed today and I’m really chuffed.
Not what I ideally wanted but a 56 plate 2.5 SE in stunning montego blue came up very locally at a really great price. Low owners 5, and low miles, 67k. Lovely old guy who’s wife could now longer get into it.
I went to look really just see the colour in the flesh and compare and familiarise myself.
But it was so clean and I was actually surprised that it went pretty well. Great throttle response and sounded lovely.
So I bought it!
Now I just need some sports seats, maybe some nice OEM 18” alloys, and a wind deflector.
I’m so pleased, I slightly prefer montego to my estoril 2 series.
The stereo is perfectly good and has a working CD changer.

pics to follow when I figure out posting them…

Welcome to Z4 ownership, even if you didn't get exactly what you were originally looking for!

But you've found a low mileage example in Montego Blue which is a great colour so hopefully that makes up for it.

BTW to post a photo down below the box you type a post in there is an "Add Files" button. Click on that then select the photo(s) you want to put in your post.

Great thanks, I will try that.

Welcome to the club. Is she the facelift version with the N52 engine?

Yes she is. But just the low output version, not Si.

Images?..

Well that was remarkably easy once you know how. Thanks Mr Tidy.
First two pics from sellers add.
Second two on a little trip today and squeezed into the garage.
Just need to think of a name now, trouble is the 240 has always been Mr Z due to the plate.

Photos worked then.

Montego Blue is a great colour, and I like the wheels you have as they are quite unusual.

Make sure you are sitting down when you look at M-Sport seat prices - £600-800 seems to be the norm.

Anyway it's good to have another serial BMW owner on here - I'm on numbers 7 and 8 now!

Maybe Sierra Mike would work as a name going by the plate. My first Z4 was Oscar Victor Charley because the plate was LA56 OVC.

Yes thanks.
Yeah I like the wheels, 201 turbines I think. Nice and easy to clean and a slight dish. Shame they’re not 18s though.
Love a BM but not any of the new stuff, really sad how they have lost the plot on design.
I’m gonna take it in to the local specialist garage and see if she needs anything before splashing out on seats, maybe!
Maybe I’ll just refer to it as the roady for now, my 123d was the “turbo bus”. 😆

Easy to clean wheels are great and I'm not sure 18s would add anything, apart from aesthetics.

Roady sounds like a good name - my 123d was just "my car"!

Thanks, it’s the silver top so not the N52k I think. Definitely N52 facelift car.
Yes I was wondering about going to Si spec with the inlet manifold, but not keen to spend too much and probably wouldn’t bother mapping for a small gain.

I want new bmw wheel hub caps. Cotswolds want £46 for the set. Does anyone know of a cheaper place to buy these new? Oem of course.

That's probably the going rate for OE centre caps.

I just bought some cheap ones on Ebay. If they start to look tatty they were so cheap I'll just replace them!
