Finally got around to the headlights!

Had the car for a while now and have been meaning to have a go at the oxidisation on the headlights.

I have used Turtle Wax Headlight Lens Restorer and this is the end result (like a plonker I didnt take a before shot)



Well pleased and only about 30 mins

You've got no hope of that with the detailers on here. Am about to try some toothpaste on mine... we'll see

Still just as clear, unfortunately I didn't take before shot as well but have been asked by a friend of my wife's to have a go at her manky headlights on a VW Golf.

Now have run out of the Turtle Wax bits so decided to experiment!

I used 800 grit wet and dry to start, followed by 1250 and 2400 grit


After
Finished by using Auto Glym Restoring Polish on a polishing pad on my electric drill


Very pleased with the result!!

nfarmer, very nice result, but you'd get a better result if you completely removed the failed coating (you can still see it after your sanding stages) I'd guess that close up you can still see unevenness on the surface? That's because the coating is still there. If you sanded it off completely you could have the lens looking brand new.

Go on! Make sure you have some good compound otherwise you'll be stuck with some opaque lenses lol
