Hi all,
Been a member for three months and I've already said hello here before - but now I actually have a Z4! Pictures will follow, although, as it was BillyGilly's car you may have already seen it.
My first drive in her was from Somerset to London yesterday, and it was flipping fantastic. Going from a 1.6 Stilo to a 3.0 Z4 really is quite the jump... The engine thunders when you drop your foot and, unlike the Stilo, it actually wants to go around corners in an orderly fashion and not like a canal barge on roller skates.
First job will be to faff with the control settings, set the DSP based on something I found on here, get an aux-in cable for my phone/Zune Player and buy all the proper cleaning products (good bye, trusty sponge). And, of course, I'll be enjoying the unusually warm sunny weather by rumbling around fine British countryside with the roof down.
Not sure I'll need to upgrade the door speakers but if anyone has any suggestions please get in touch. Usually I let my flagship JVC head unit do the talking but I'll be sticking with the BMW one this time.
