Been lurking behind the scenes for a while know and have finally managed to pick up a late 2004 3.0i se with only 14k miles on the clock. It is basically a new car and hasn't been out in the rain for over 3 years!
Loving it to bits so far and managed more miles in the 1st week of ownership than the previous owner did in the past year! The first mods that I am planning include a "stubby", sorting the CDV as I keep messing my changes from 1st to 2nd gear when I am pressing on a bit and fitting cruise control. I need to look at the actual build date for this as the car was registered in dec 2004 so hopefully it will be a straight forward job.

Few pics for everyone....sorry it is so dirty, cornish lanes in winter tend to be slightly muddy!

Nice zed and yes practically new.
CDV, Stubby and Cruise are all good starter mods :)

Welcome!

Welcome Mark.
Nice Zed matey!! Is that the Greenbank Hotel in Falmouth? My folks live just up the road in Redruth, now waiting for the summer so the Mrs and myself can get down and enjoy all the Cornish roads and lanes :driving:

Cheers

Dan

Welcome!

Sounds like a great car and nothing wrong with a little dirt - means it's being used

Here's a thought... I believe that, over time, the engine management adapts the fueling to your driving style - so at the moment it'll be set to not a lot. If you disconnect the battery and let the system shut down it will reset and start from scratch for you - wait for someone to confirm though as: a) not sure if that's correct; b) it may adapt quickly enough anyway; c) may make no demonstrable difference.

Enjoy

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.
Dan, the pics were taken at the Pandora inn just 15 mins ish from Falmouth. A definite must visit in the Summer when you are down. I have found few better places for an Alfresco pint in the summer! Its also happens to be my local!
The 1st owner had the car for 2 years and about 11 thousand miles and the second owner for 3 years and 3k during which it was kept under cover and only driven in dry weather!
The only fault I have found with the car so far is that the windscreen washer fluid seems to leak out below the offside headlight. I've had a look on here and it looks like the bumper will be coming off to investigate as soon as the weather is a bit warmer  I doubt the previous owner would have ever noticed or used the washer other than for the MOT.
I'm also going to have one of the foam bits out of the sound generator and loose the cd changer so I can get my Ipod hooked up
The rear tyres only have just over 2mm of tread left on them so all 4 corners will probably get ditched for not RFTs in the near future too.

Good buy! That is ridiculously low mileage, the poor thing has hardly been round the block - please rectify this :driving:

lovely car- as for the washer fluid I had it and its an easy fix

Hi and welcome, dont bother to remove the CD changer just disconnect it, far to much hassle.

Nice car by the way

Don't worry. It will be staying where it is and being disconnected! I still can't decide which is the best Ipod kit to go for though. Need to look through some more of the posts on here, any advice folks?
Hopefully I can fix the washer leak through the hatch in the wheel arch liner without having the bumper off! Its the hatch there to access the headlights/washers?

Hi and welcome Markyboy. Some good basic mods on the cards and there are many more that can be done when time and money are there. Good luck and enjoy.

Hey and welcome :D

Very like my car when I got it (sterling grey and 108s)
