finally found my new wheels.........a proper "track" rim

Beedub

the ga3r.......... perfection, and considerably lighter than the CSL rims... all round this will net a nice unsprung weight saving.....

will be ordering the 18" option with a front in 8.5 +32offset, up in the rear ill be going 9.5 +25.... relatively restrained offsets compared to the stance kings (but still agressive in terms of z4m fitment), but i need the headroom for the proper trackuse/sprint use my car see's, i will not put a rim on my car thats rubs ANYWHERE, simple as that. Not only am i excited about these rims but they are the only wheels ive come across that are still warrantied when used on the track, that says alot imo......

ill be ordering the matt centres with the gloss black outer shell that you see in the pics below................
Very excited, hoping to get my order in early december when i get a nice cash injection coming in from work :-)

These wheels are properly light, very very strong and will allow fitment of my BBK, i love the fact that i can make them any offset i like so perfect fitment, im not going for ultimate flush archline look, in terms of offset im going for a setup that i can tune to look good BUT firstly get no rub on the very hard work my car see's during the track months, its taken me a LONG time to find the right wheel, these are perfect for me...... simply perfect........

the only thing i cant seem to work out is the centre bore size?? im hoping they will machine them to bmw spec so they are "hubcentric centering"

mmmmm i can just see my blown z4m sitting on these, BBK poking out behind these forge ga3r's lowered (a very restrained) 10mm on kw clubsports...... yessss perfection. Watch this space.... not looking forward to import charges.....

My genuine CSL's (refinished in gunmetal with PSS rubber will be for sale)
the moment these things are on my car :-)

heres the spec taken from the forgeline website

After over 20 years of involvement with teams of virtually every sports car racing organization in the world, we have learned what it takes to produce a racing wheel that can withstand the fierce conditions of the sport. This knowledge has been applied to our latest and greatest - the best wheel that we have ever made - the GA3R.

Our new "I-Beamed Spoke" technology reduces weight and applies additional strength and rigidity within the spokes of the wheel. The hidden titanium assembly hardware delivers a smooth clean look and makes wheel cleaning faster and easier. The design of the GA3R's center allows plenty of room for caliper clearance and extreme brake fitment. And we have employed a new proprietary fast-drying super-strength sealer that is highly resistant to leaks and allows for quick and easy repairs.

The GA3R is truly designed for racing. It is engineered with a 2100 lb. street-tire load rating to ensure strength and integrity, even when subjected to the massive loads encountered on the stickiest race tires. And it is the only wheel that is actually warranted for use in racing applications!

The GA3R is produced using our traditional forging method utilizing 6061-T6 aluminum with heat-treated rim-shells. And just like any Forgeline wheel, the GA3R is fully customizable in fitment and finish, including center lock applications.

Now available in 17-inch, 18-inch, 19-inch, and 20-inch sizes in virtually any width and offset.

I love these wheels

... I understand that the use you're putting the car to demands quality, but they certainly ain't cheap :o

Still want some

yeah i agree i think they are slightly overpriced and it will be a big purchase....... But with the sale of my CSLs which are on nearly new PSS tyres.... they alone are worth well over 1k!!, with the wheels as well id like to recoup a good 1800 quid if possible...

Re the wheels, the car is in pristine condition, from underneath to engine bay to bodywork...... im happy to enhance it further with these bits!! plus the lighter unsprung weight would be nice, not to mention the cheaper tyres..... looking forward to seeing if their is a noticeable difference with the smaller, lighter wheels....

After the last sprint session i did, my wheels were SO Hot by the time id finsihed i could not touch the spokes...... Im definatly putting them to good use, that said the CSL has been and is a Very good choice, strong, lighter than the stock 18" and looks much better.... Throw some spacers on them to get some decent offsets they are a very good choice for the z4m and look just gorgeous... definatly one of my favourite wheels of all time... ill be sad to see them go....

Lol if its not broke.... Why fix it, this one is very light, so its not scratching the paint and most importantly keeps the dust off the car... Purchased from halfords for 8.99..... Job done....

Nice looking wheels. Seriously though, are most wheels not covered for track use?

99% are unwarrantied as soon as you hit the track :-) including most track specific wheels, makes you wonder alittle doesnt it really....

It totally sensible given the winter weather etc but it seems such a crime to have such an awesome car wrapped up in a garage not being used :D

gtreat looking wheels, well done for goinged fir forged items. It will be interesting to see how the stock suspension reacts.

Yeahh i do agree but i like to keep it pristine...... The winter months would eventually take its tole...... I cant describe the difference in condition to a garaged and used weekends to a dd one, my tts looks 7 years older.... And everything is rusty.... I suppose part of ownership for me is the keeping them like this.... Sad in some way i guess.....

I agree. There's something nice about having a shiny garaged car. When you take it out for a drive on a sunny dry weekend and it's glistening, it's just perfect! They don't seem as special when they're driven everyday and become tired looking so quickly.

Wheels look fabulous btw!
