Fiesta ST.. a year on.

Beedub - presuambly these works invalidate Ford's warrantee right?

I'm not sure what the impact of that actually is in real terms but always seems a scary prospect. I was looking at similar tunes for RS3's and you can get ~420bhp without any real work from just a revo tune - but again it's a warrantee issue on a new car, what if it goes wrong yadda yadda ;D

Following this,

That is going to be one quick car when complete, it would show up a fair few zeds too I would think!

Most of the Mountune mods keep the Ford manufacturers warranty in place. Not sure if you have to get the bits supplied and fitted by ford or Mountune for this but ford pretty much approve. Don't think they are the same with other after market mods though.

Audi did a similar "approved" mod thing with MTM on a few models including the previous RS3. It's similar to how AC Schnitzer work with BMW although I think the most recent Schnitzer/BMW stuff has been a really expensive piggy back box. Expensive because it basically meant AC Schnitzer then covered the warranty on associated parts.

I understand they do when I inquired.

We had a mk1 zetec with a asthmatic 1.6 N/A that was a hoot these things are on rails. You can almost drive at any corner at any speed you like!! I bet they are so much fun with a proper power unit. I really might have to go down to the local ford dealership.

I wouldnt be too worried about tuning invalidating the warranty as it will only affect those component.... So if you remap it and the turbo goes fair do's but the gearbox goes bang you can argue your case to be covered.

I have a stage 2+ on my TT (downpipe, sports cat and HPFP) and took it to Audi with a sticky pcv valve... And they changed it under the warranty with no hassle!

Would you want to be arguing your case though? I mean there's no law that dictates what they can or can't decide as related - i also imagine their policy would be warrantee is either valid, or invalid.

In your example, gearboxes are rated to a certain power limit too so i'd imagine its possible they could say that! :P

moutune kits are ford sanctioned....

ford actually stock and fit the stage 1 MP215 setups. the mr230 needs to be done at mountune however as they do something with the cam's. i would imagine the stock turbo is pretty much maxed out at 230hp, imagine 230hp in a a car that weights 1088kg. The only thing is mountune would fit the kit unless every supporting mod is a mountune piece, so luckily i have the airbox setup already, the mr230 comes with a turbo back free flow exhaust , bigger intercooler and all the boost pipework hard pipes etc. so next step is get this sucker booked in...... need to get the diff fitted first however.

one of the first kits dyno checked made a respectable 241hp. That will do :-)
