Hi guys , In the market for a 53-55 plate z4 hoping to have it on the drive by next week , Got a few questions if you would be kind enough to help me out with .

Got one guy down to a decent price on a 2.5, 30k miles 53 plate , but he has confessed the wheels (bbs split rims with studs) are corroded a fair bit , so question one , Can these wheels be refurbed easily enough ? and I'll probably take pelters for saying but what do you think about silver rim with black spokes on those wheels ? Any one done this before ? pics?

What should I look out for on z4s in general ? I know 70k miles aint much on a 3/5 series Bm , does this apply to Z4s also ? Any mechanical problems to look out for ?

Cheers guys .

Hi and welcome the wheels (108's) are well known for this problem and lots of members have had refurbished or replaced under warranty, some such as CH10Jeeper even refurb their own.

Rob Davey has black inners and is currently messing around with pin stripe (if you can call it that)

goo luck with the search though.

Jamster - welcome

In general Zeds are often 2nd or weekend cars so expect lower mileage. Don't get me wrong they'll do 200k and plenty of members have over 100k on them. Not sure if the one you have seen has 30k or 70k on the clock as you mention both. 70 would be high for a '53

Look for panel damage, especially the nose. Expect to pay £300+ to refurb 108's so use that to bargain. No specific problems on the Z4 but all the usual stuff like fit lines, accident damage, everything fullly working. REar springs break too, so expect £150 to replace those if not done already.

Biggest thing to consider is the options as they are often expensicve and difficult to retrofit. Xenon, sat nav, sports seats, etc.
