Few (maybe electrical) gremlins

Morning all,

Need some help as I don't know where to begin at the moment.

A few issues have developed on my M coupe (it hasn't been driven in 2 weeks or so until yesterday).

1) The alarm is just going off randomly, now I understand this is usually the bonnet sensor so that will be my first port of call.. But given the other issues I am wondering if something else may be causing?

2) When locking the car via the key fob, the indicator/side roundel lights have stopped flashing amber as they used to?

3) With the sport button engaged, the acceleration is now awful. It takes forever to pick up when putting foot down instead of being instantaneous. It is perfectly fine without the sport button on. It is like... Hesitation to accelerate is probably the best description. It is fine idling so no worries there, it is just when travelling and put foot down it takes a second or so then jerks onwards and accelerates like normal?

Please help! Not sure where to even start looking for a fix, but they all seem electrical?

Thanks!

Mine started doing weird electrical things, turned out to be the battery. Original one so nine years old.

You could try disconnecting the battery for a while so everything can then reset. You will however need to set clock etc.

To check the bonnet sensor just unplug it. As already said battery issues can cause all sorts of gremlins, even if the car starts fine. My windows weren't nipping closed when shutting the door but it almost seemed random when they would or wouldn't. New battery solved it :)
