Favourite Driving Roads

Just a suggestion, but is there any merit in setting up a sticky with everyone's fav driving roads near to them?
With members all over the country I imagine we could build up an extensive list pretty quickly?

I think there's a thread somewhere, it should be a sticky I reckon!

It may not translate to the UK, but I've found a huge resource in good driving roads from the motorcycle community.

+1 . Yes, it certainly does translate. A lot of m'bike websites are good sources for these,

Can someone do a map group, like the 'where the members live' map?
There's already one done just add yourself  - http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=43872&p=830662&hilit=where+are+we+all+%3F#p830662

Think Mr Torque is talking about a map of the UK with favourite roads marked on them. Great idea, bet it's a total ball ache to do though...

I did once stumble across a biking website with this. I'll try to find it tomorrow (a quick google search has not thrown anything up).

Thats very good, never knew Stuart was so close.

Is it worth adding as a sticky in the newbies part of the forum?

Might be better putting it where only members of the forum have access

This topic has also been discussed earlier. See this link for good driving road examples: http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=20957&p=298795#p296254

All those roads look immense, but I meant local roads that you could go for a blast down on a random Saturday morning...

I need to find some decent roads locally in Edinburgh.

When I lived in Dundee and Forfar there were fantastic road right on my doorstep. Now I need to drive like 25 miles to find a good road :headbang:

25? pfft! That's nothing. Here in the land of big open spaces it's more like hundreds. There are some good curves here and there locally, but nothing sustained for a long ways. Fortunately, the scenery is awesome nearly everywhere.

You need to get yourself on the Duns road we did on the Kielder run back in August. Can't be that far away from you surely, especially on a quiet Sunday morning ?

100 miles of driving heaven and it's on my doorstep. https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?saddr=Green+Circular%2FHarestane+Rd&daddr=56.6076045,-3.0064589+to:Lindsay+St%2FA926+to:B951+to:A93+to:W+Moulin+Rd%2FA924+to:Unknown+road+to:Unknown+road+to:Dunkeld+Rd%2FA923+to:Green+Circular%2FHarestane+Rd&hl=en&ll=56.656981,-3.297272&spn=0.441572,1.352692&sll=56.496307,-2.994665&sspn=0.001732,0.005284&geocode=FV4PXgMdaFXS_w%3BFXTDXwMdBiDS_ynPCqijBWaGSDGR6QElG3sJyg%3BFXq7YAMdUAbS_w%3BFb78YQMdCA3M_w%3BFcxcYAMdSA3M_w%3BFTc9YQMd_QLH_w%3BFUG6XwMdm6nI_w%3BFfozXwMdBDLJ_w%3BFf53XwMd-vrM_w%3BFWkPXgMd8FTS_w&mra=mi&mrsp=9&sz=18&via=1&t=m&z=10

If I venture into the next county - Perthshire - it gets even better.
