I like most Christmas songs from all eras except Slade, I cannot stand that Slade song in fact I cant stand Slade I was a teenager in the late 60’s hated them then and still do now also not a Cliff Richards fan.

For me I think you sing a song and listen to an instrumental, however in everyday speech "song" is used to refer to any musical piece, regardless of whether it has lyrics or not. Well thats my opinion
