Looking into our next family trip (2 adults and 18 month year old). We want to go for 7 x nights in late June and thinking I might Eurotunnel or Ferry the VW over to France then travel somewhere from there. Ideally self-catering, scenic and near to a beach/young child friendly areas.

Know you lot are a pretty well travelled lot so any recommendations or specific contacts?

Have you considered Normandy ? 265 easy miles from the tunnel / http://www.ownersdirect.co.uk/france/fr2243.htm
Plus the last 2 weeks of June i,l be in the barn with mrs w at the opposite end of the building so we can drink wine & talk car,s into the early hours

Very nice! I'll run it past the boss as she has no idea I'm even considering a trip like this yet

It is a great area to holiday for all ages & lot,s to see & do , PM if you want any info on the region or general info

Cheap enough

Parking too low for an X5 though (or your former X3 I take it)

when we do a euro trip ........ we generally head south, then follow the weather ......

We love the SoF but it,s not a goer by car for a week,s holiday so realistically from Calais/Tunnel to hit beaches it,s turn right & drive :driving:
Anywhere from Honfleur to Cherbourg is well worth the visit , maybe not as hot but beaches are just as good
