False alarm(s)

Hi all,
Anyone had the problem of the alarm going off on your Z4. Just bought a 2006 Z4 2l Sport and on two sunny mornings the alarm kept going off when the car was locked (after a time). At other times alarm has seemed to operate ok? My wife says that sun has effected car alarms for years and that the air inside the car heats up and moves about - setting off the alarm (?! can't believe I never heard of this before)
Any comments or help (before my neighbours retaliate). Thanks

You didn't try a search

You would have found a lot with the same issue, often turns out to be the bonnet sensor.
