Hi, Just going through the minefield staggered winter tyres 18" MV2 s
mytyres are coming up with Falken hs 439 94h xl with rim flange protection.
matching tyres in the right sizes for £462 98p, free delivery, obviously I will have to get them fitted ( I have spare alloys)
are these any good and do you think it is a good price? :?
I don't want to go through another winter like last year on my runflats, got stuck against kerb in Chester in the snow :driving: and that horrible sound of my alloys grinding away :headbang:

That is a great price if they are the 255-35-18 rears & 225 40 18 fronts
I just watched a set of part worn budget brand 5/6mm staggered 18inch winters go on ebay for £342 :o + p&p
Falken winters will serve you very well . , i have a pair of F439,s 215-50-16,s on my van right now

Haha, I knew you would be first to answer Mr Wilks :D
Yes I watched them as well, so do you think I should go ahead? google them and got mixed reviews, seems a good price and all the right sizes , didn't really fancy running 225 40s all round :?
thanks for swift reply

My sister ran Falken winters on her staggered set up 330d saloon , 3 years running from oct/march , , ,car sold now but the fronts are currently on my son,s Golf Gti & still on 4mm min , rears had taken a bit more hammer obviously but she never failed to get anywhere she wanted to go with them on .

What are the alternatives for similar money ?

I got falkens last yr from mytyres... Think the fronts were £97 each, the rears £150 odd.

Staggered 18" setup.... Worked a treat in last winters severe snow.

Thats what i used last winter and same will be going on again this year, works perfectly and they dont look "stretched" on the rears

Save yourself the money!

If you going to have the car for some time, why not buy 17" wheels and tyres...
yeah know what you mean about going nowhere last winter same for me in Chester
at works car park, spinning wheels plentiful of laughs from staff.... :tumbleweed:
ebay.de do some nice oem wheel deals delivered to the UK... I got my tyres
winter vereds wintrac from oponeo.co.uk £105 a tyre... just so unsafe on 19"
summer tyres... especially below 7'c

Thank you for all the advice, I have ordered the Falkens, I already bought a set of 18" mv2s for £200 plus £60 to repair a buckle then £240 for full refurb now winter tyres  don't think I will be laying any more money out on more wheels, will see how I get on this winter.
Still got my illuminated knob to sort out :D
