Factory Ipod Question

My Z came with factory fit ipod integration to the pro nav system but when I plug it in I dont get any of the track names displaying on the nav screen just TR-01 TR-02 etc.

Any way to make this work? I want to have quite a bit of music in each playlist but its nigh on impossible to find a track I want doing it that way....

I'm running an Ipod nano 2G with 8GB storage so if I fill it with music that's nearly 2GB per playlist ie. making it impossible to remember track numbers... I'm sure I read somewhere there's a way to update the system to get it to work but can't find that post again (and tbh cant even remember 100% if it was here I read it)

I've already tried updating the nav system to the latest version but that didn't make any difference

When you say factory fitted, do you mean this device? If so, I believe that its capability is similar to the DICE system I used to have. My DICE did not support songs/titles, just track numbers as it is similar to a CD device.

I ended up going for the Intravee in the end - one reason was the support for text

It is a proper BMW one and I believe it is the same one I have although the instruction booklet is slightly different to the one scanned there...

That's a bit annoying if it isn't a way to get it to do what I want...

The intravee is pretty expensive though as you need to spend £100 on the alpine dock too, need to decide if I can live with what I'v got or see if I can find an alternative
