factory fitted side indicator upgrade - really?

As in the title, i've never seen this before, this car is for sale on autotrader listed with the upgrade. Personally i'm not keen but i've never seen it before and I'm struggling to beleive it is factory fitted as BMW would never knowingly ditch a badge!

A $1000.00 a pair !!! i wouldnt have paid 50p for them (about a dollar in your money)...
