Facelift roof motor failed, is £650 a good price? - Fixed!

Thought I was safe with a facelift car, and I kept my drains clear!

Local indi quoted me £650 inc parts labour and Vat. I reckon that's a good price, unless I've missed something?! Any advice appreciated.

Get a price split on parts and labour, then check the motor and housing cost with Jamie at Sopers. Bing can probably give you a hint on pricing, he took that route.
 
Thanks, I happen to know this dealer and they've done some good work for me in the past, so happy it seems to be fair price.
 
Got my motor and housing from Sopers, cost me about £350 with discounts IIRC. Install by my local Indy was £330, so I reckon you've got a good deal. It is more than some have paid, but not round here, and I also knw/trust the guys that did it. Worth paying a slight premium sometimes, especially on a job that is so big / potentially complex.

For anyone else that's following this thread, my indi showed me the new cup that surrounds the motor and he's going to explore the possibility of adding sealant to prevent any future trouble.

It's done!

Warne Motors, Bury St Edmunds did the job. Top notch service from them as usual :thumbsup:

The roof opens and closes much quicker now, I didn't realise how slow the mechanism had got.

Apparently my passenger side drain was blocked, which is surprising as I thought I had been keeping them both clean.

They added extra sealant to the pump housing join to make it more resistant to water ingress.
