totally stupid idea, I certainly wont be getting a sky subscription in any form just to watch the processions...

increasingly disillusioned with the 'sport'...
 
the problem I have with sky is that you need to be buying into a big package for it, when it first came out I think I'm right in saying it was part of the HD package. now you need full sports don't you? I don't use the TV otherwise apart from for films... :(
 
Most logical thing would be to also have it as a standalone package... Maybe I want F1 but don't want anything else.
 
Unbelievable.
This comes only a day after the open letter from the grand prix drivers association in which one of the reforms that even the drivers wanted was more free to air coverage because pay to view was deemed to be one of the causes for falling admissions.
I for one will not be contributing to Ecclestone or Murdochs wealth and greed :thumbsdown:

If you are a new subscriber, then yes you have to subscribe to sky sports, if you have had the sky HD package for more than 3 years then you can get it as part of that and that's how I watch. I certainly wouldn't pay £27.50 a month to watch it, though you can buy a day pass to watch the race with Sky Now, VPN is also your friend

Like lot's of people I'm frustrated with FOM and the FIA, the tinkering has to stop, I mean look what happened to qualifying :headbang:

But I love the new power units, F1 should be about cutting edge technology enabling a racing car go as fast and as safe as possible whilst not being easy to drive, though this halo thingy is just awful, much prefer that Red Bull cockpit idea

nothing new here, same has happened to other sports

Either subscribe to SkyF1 or go the Kodi route
 
F1 has been slowly dying for a few years now...I'm amazed it's taken the drivers this long to make some form of stand. The only thing that'll save the sport is if each driver drives each car for one race...20 drivers, 20 cars, 20 races....you'll then see the best car and best driver. Until that happens I won't bother watching it.

No Sky for me so that looks like I'll have to visit a mate :lol:

Shame... Melbourne showed that there's still some excitement in F1, despite continued efforts to ruin it!

Following WEC more and more these days.
