F-Pace width

We've been looking for a second car having had a Jeep GC to go along side the Z4 up until last year. The new F-Pace looks like a great car, but having looked at the specs it's 226mm wider than our old Jeep GC (that's with mirrors folded), which wasn't exactly a slim car to park. I don't see parking spaces getting any wider either ...

From autocar:

The F-Pace sits between the XE and XF in length. It’s 4731mm long, 1936mm wide and 1652mm tall, with a 2874mm wheelbase and a ground clearance of 213mm. This makes the F-Pace marginally longer and wider than the X3. It also has a longer wheelbase than the X3 and practically matches the BMW on height.

Supposedly built to sit in between the RR Evoque & RR sized that way and so presumably priced that way too?

Not as wide as an X5

As for price, it's well yes kinda inbetween. Starts at just over £34k but the top of the line car is just a tad over £65k, RR Sport money at that point. The launch specs look ace. They are putting the 3.0l V6 S engine as found in the F Type in it too! Not so sure re the 22inch alloys on that model but it will be a beautiful sounding machine.

I think it looks lovely and if I was looking for a SUV I would consider it.

I double checked the width above, 1936mm, and you're correct that's what's been shown in the press, but if you go to the Jaguar website and look at the 'Dimensions and Specifications' drop down it shows 2070mm, which seemed excessive for this type of SUV???

Maybe it's just a case of the website being wrong, which wouldn't be a first for the data that JLR put up

1936mm would be a little more realistic when trying to squeeze between the Range Rovers and Q7s in the local Waitrose car park ...

Hmm I see what you are saying .. will just have to wait and see I guess. Still, a viable option as an SUV in a few years..

Jaguar expect this SUV to sell more than any other model in the range, even the recently launched volume XE

Given the reviews i can see that happening.

I think it will sweep up a lot of previous RRS owners - the RRS is now silly money so there is a gap in the JLR range for this car.

My only concern is Jaguar tend to over-price at launch in the UK market and offer much better deals overseas. German spec and prive is much better.

They then discount after a year and hit early buyers residuals
Lot of noise on Jaguar forums about this.
