F**king idiot motorists

Almost didn't make it into work this morning. Some fcuking idiot in a tipper truck gave me precisely 0" of space as he passed me around a blind corner with double white lines and cars coming the other way. Only way I avoided going under his wheels was to swerve into the kerb out of his path, but I hit the kerb and rebounded off it. That was on my bike btw, not a car. Still physically shaking.

Sorry, just ranting...

Jeez, did he even see you after he had done it, Glad your ok, have a coffee and start smoking,

After that, I believe valium would be more appropriate than stimulants

However glad that your okay

jeez :o there certainly some idiots out there

not just motorists - I hit a pedestrian the other day as he just sauntered into the road with out looking

Got a load of lip yesterday from a motorcyclist :?

anyhoo, glad you are ok :D

Did you get his reg? You could report him to his boss! Over here in Ireland a lot of transport companies have "how is my driving?" stickers on them with a contact telephone number to make complaints.

Glad you're OK - was 'filtering' between two lines of almost stationery traffic on my Triumph yesterday (car drivers don't mind this do they?) - when an 'offroader's' landrover decided to do the same from the opposite direction. Didn't worry me too much as I pulled over, but every other car had to dive for cover as he came down the middle. Keep your eyes peeled - there are idiots everywhere.

thats knobhead truckers for you. they dont give a shi* because they know they are protected in such a huge vehicle. i once had a tipper truck catch the corner of my car and drag me round and wedged under it ! i was in my first car, an AXGT with airfix build quality...........brown trouser moment for sure!

My nerves have calmed down about it now - that was the most exposed I've felt on a bike for a long time. My thoughts are either that:
a) the driver just didn't see me (unlikely, fluoro yellow rucsac cover, bright blue jacket and rear LED on even though it wasn't dark)
or
b) the driver was a complete moron with a disregard for anyone else on the road (more likely)

I actually record every single commute on a helmet camera but very very occasionally it switches off enroute, and today was one of those times . I've reported driver's to their companies before - works better than reporting them to the police who don't give a sh*t about cyclists unless seriously injured IME (not even when a vehicle collided with me, all on camera). The thing is that I commute every single day and I'm used to this, but this morning's extremely close encounter just totally freaked me out. I guess just because of the size/proximity of the vehicle.

My commute is approx 80% traffic-free offroading, 15% quiet roads, and 5% main road - and typically ALL the incidents I've had have been on the 5% of main road. No other option for my route though

Sorry to hear about that A11y, once had something similar years while I was on a GPZ600R, the pr*ck in the van kept trying to force me into the gutter while we were moving slowly in traffic actually thought he was going to ram me at one point then looked at me like I was fit to be alive, the roads are full of moron's, should be compulsory for everyone who has a driving licence to have an eye test every year and maybe even made to ride a bike for a week just to make them aware of the danger.

Glad to you are Ok though apart from a few frayed nerves.
