I just happen to be working in that area next week so could pop in and have a look at he H/top in the flesh if theirs anyone interested and get some pics.

For that money I would stick the car in cruise and motor up there - say £150 in petrol? still gives an unbeatable price of £400

If it looks too good to be true....

Gumtree does seem to be the leader of spam con artists as we have seen far too often on here :(

£5 is my monthly pocket money from the wife, I can't spend it all on gambling!! I'm prepared to be wrong, an absolute bargain for someone if it is genuine...Good spot from Rich too, if someone on here does buy it for £250 then I think they should give at least £5 commission to him for finding it! :)

If you click the full site link at the bottom of the ad you will also see they are selling a number of different hard tops! Advert also states Glasgow in the header. :o The only dismantler I am aware of is a company called U Pull It http://u-pull-it.co.uk/locations.html but the hours on the advert are different to those on the U Pull It site, so are the phone numbers. I noticed that the Z4 hard top picture appears to be taken in a domestic house setting rather than an industrial setting! I am smelling a rat, but would like to be proved wrong though.

Noticed that this picture has been taken from a ebay listing that went for £955 a few weeks ago.
Think it's defo dodgy

Damn, I should've taken Rich up on that £5 bet now  !! Check the one I've just posted from eBay, that looks alright...

Hmm I dunno - I posted some clear lens headlights a few weeks ago and used a picture that wasn't mine (from another for sale thread) as I didn't have the lens at hand to take a picture

If it is a scam why use such a remote address? Unless they expected you to pay up front and have a courier pick it up?

The seller (if genuine!) will probably see this thread now and put the price up by £700! Strell, if 10 miles away why not go take a look?

Warning.....This is a scam. This place is about 2 miles down the road from my house, and for a start it's name changed several years ago! I called them direct. (Not the number in the ad) and they told me the advert is fake, as is the contact number. It appears the scammers are advertising parts very cheap, then when you call they ask you to transfer them money. You then go to collect parts which don't exist. The guy I spoke to says they have had loads of problems with this. (Apparently there have been fake ads placed for loads of stuff) Just for the record, the breaker in question is genuine and reputable, and has been there for many years (although the name has changed) I have used them many many times. (Perhaps this is why the scammers are using their name?)

Anyway...Just one more scam to look out for!!!
