External Antenna

I was just wondering if anyone knew for certain what the external antenna is for on the Z4 3.0i Roadster. I have seen that the FM antenna is supposedly located beneath the rear bumper assembly, so would that make the other antenna for cell phone use? If so, how would that interface with one's phone? IS there a mount somewhere or is that a something that has to be purchased/added?

there is definately another antenna for the FM radio. With that antenna, its more of a backup. if you look in your boot and under the external antenna, there should be a box that should tell u a bit more

When I replaced my antenna for a shorty the AM reception degraded noticeably.

I put on a 4" stubby antenna on my Z4 Coupe and my AM reception went away. FM seems unchanged.
