Extended Warranty

Tried to extend the warranty on the Z as it runs out tomorrow, only to be told by BMW UK that I cannot get cover due to the fact that I am in Germany for more than 90 days. Again HMF are being persicuted. Fair play to BMW customer services though, they were very polite and appologetic. I asked if BMW Germany could cover me and was given the number for their customer services. Again very polite and helpful, took my details and will get back to me once they have an answer. Fingers crossed! Also spoke to my local main dealer and they reckon they can get hold of parts that are only available in the states, they said they have done this before so I'm hoping they can get me the M boot liner/carpet. Watch this space...

What are the prices like for servicing over there, and do 'continental' inspections void your UK warranty?

Not sure on prices for servicing as I've never had one over here yet that I've had to pay for, however it should be cheaper with the exchange rate as it is plus I'm able to get the tax off aswell-so bonus!! If your talking about affecting the manufactures warranty then the answer is no, it won't affect it. If your referring to extended warranty then I'm not sure. It would be mad if it did because what difference does it make aslong as it is done by a main dealer! Had the 1200 mile service done over here on my M3 4 years ago and that was fine.
