Extended Warranty

Just got my letter through, and I'm looking at £520 for Comp cover with £0 excess (or £427 with £100 excess) including Euro cover. You then go to £454 to drop down to Named cover only, and then down to £374 for Driveline only.

Has anyone else taken this out, and are they good with paying out or do they wriggle out of it? The exclusions list seems quite large even on the comp cover:

Battery, all exhaust components (except catalytic converter), brake and clutch facings, discs and drums, bulbs and fuses, channels and guides, weather strips and seals, handles, hinges and check straps, trim, upholstery and cosmetics finishes, bodywork, paintwork, wheels and tyres, wiper blades and arms, glass, auxiliary drive belts, coolant and fuel hoses, the cleaning or adjustment of any component, and all service items which will require periodic replacement.

I've got AUC cover at the moment, and must've claimed about 10 things off of it without issue, so I'm looking towards the £0 excess option as it only takes 1 claim to put you equal (and I expect at least 1 claim).

Insured Warranty is no different from AUC Warranty. £520 with no excess is good. I used to pay £72 per month for my E60 (no excess and without breakdown cover).

I took it out with the fully comp level ... not had to claim so don't know about the rest.
One reason that I took it was that as the AUD warranty was ending you can't delay extending it, so the only way to have cover as the car gets older is to keep taking out extended warranty.

The Euro cover is comprehensive (but again I've never used it) ... but it saves that bit of extra cost if travelling in Europe.
