Extended Warranty or Not - Experiences?

Well my Z4R is 3 years old on October 11 this year and I'm pretty sure I'm going to go with an extended warranty, especially since I've experienced the "tapping" problem with the 3.0si engine.

I have received my letter from BMW, with a quote of £395, with £100 excess, which seems reasonable, but having never taken an extended warranty before and thinking about all the horror stories out there about them generally, I was hoping someone could share experiences please.

My car is '57 Z4 Roadster 3.0si, with 19,500 miles.

Thanks in advance.

Make sure you go for the better one I think theres 3 options. Yours sounds too cheap for the full warrenty which covers everything.

My advice also is have it. Work out what it costs you a week and the peace of mind you get.

Cheers

The price quoted is the comprehensive warranty, perhaps it was £39.99 a month, I don't have the letter with me today.

So you'd recommend it?

If you can afford it take it. Good piece of mind. I've had my zed five years now and extended the warranty three times. Never had a major repaire under it but I've had a couple of little things done. £0 excess.

TBH I would pay the little extra and loose the excess, and don't bother with the breakdown option as there are cheaper alternatives.

That's what I have done anyway.
