Extended Storage

I wonder if they put the sunglass thing in after a certain build date or something. I know they added the aux port in 2007.
 
I've got the sunglasses 'drawer' in my 12/2006 Z4MC - don't have a problem putting sunglasses in them, assuming I put them in correctly, otherwise they get caught on the catch.
 
Well, I suppose it adds a little to the height of objects you can store in that partition.

RealOEM lists one on each side though, and points to a different part number for the trim piece that it attaches too. Might have to waste a few quid to see whether they fit on a 'non-prepared' car as I just hate things rattling around when I'm pushing on, as it always makes me think the car is coming apart :oops:
 
Gannet, bit of a waste of time IMO.

MMm-Five, think you`ll find you can only have one in the M due to the tyre kit housing on the other side!

There's an identical space in the boot of the M on the other side without a net. The tyre gubbins sits around the battery a bit further forwards.

It looks like the gap is smaller, but the same system should work if the retaining clip is attached to the battery cover?
 
Yes, a touch smaller. The same net + clip arrangement should work fine. I met Voodoo and he had a larger net right across the main area to put things under. I plan to install something similar soon.

Think it was about £27 from the dealer. It's quite small, but expands to fit and holds stuff very snugly in place.
Bear in mind though that it only covers the bit of the boot floor that's stepped down.
 
I guess, in theory, that the floor net could be used in the vertical position instead of flat against the floor - possibly on a diagonal between the side of the battery cover and some other part of the boot.

Looks like I'll have to get one and see - at least these 'projects' are not as involved as CJ10jeeper's projects.
