Expansion tank.

Hi, any help on this will be greatly appreciated.
Attempted to fit a new expansion tank today. All the hoses and bottom sensor removed. Well this is as far as I got. Hard to descrime this but ....... There is something connected to the bottom of the tank that also it looks like its fastened to the radiator cowling. It fits into the largest hole on the bottom. I have removed the clip but can't separate it to install the new tank.
Has anyone had the same issues? Any Advice would be greatly appreciated.

the tank is hard to pull off, its a pain.

There are 2 locked hoses on top, one locked hose on the rear and one clip at the bottom (and a sensor at the bottom).
And then you have to slightly lift it up, tilt a bit to the rear and pull. But it can be stuck really bad and it's a hassle. Maybe some penetrating oil on the bottom seal (the silicone rubber rings get stuck on the plastic I imagine.

unbolt and remove the plastic carrier that holds it to the radiator that way you can mess about with it off the car and refit new one then just reinstall the bracket to radiator then reconnect top and bottom hoses done a few E46 ones this way

that's an e46 expansion tank in that link. I dont know what exactly the difference is but the partnumbers for the z4 expansion tank are different from the e46. So there might be some fitment issues (it fits rather bad to begin with :lol: ). Although it lists as fitting for multiple numbers.
