Exhaust Rattle

My offside rear box has been crackling at cold and warm temps recently, metal against metal sound. ATS said its the baffles and BMW say its a flap inside that opens and closes that's probably moved. They said it's been seen on 335's but not on a Z4. It could involve a replacement rear assembly from the Cat onwards...

It's so annoying I'm not driving with the roof down at the mo, but hoping it will get rectified soon...

lol, I really do own the example car here don't I.

I've already had that, it was the flap and they fitted a new cat back exhaust system.

I swear this car is 25% brand new!

Got your message mate...I will be up again in a couple of weeks...will confirm a date, to compare.

The flap in the rear box is loose and can't be repaired, so having a new exhaust fitted on Monday....

Quite pleased as I didn't think exhausts were covered under warranty.....
