This is my first post although I've used this forum over the past few years for various bits of info but never had the need to register / post - I drive a 2.0i Sport (06 Reg)
I know very little about the mechanics of cars and was wondering if anyone could advise on the following (apologies if this is not the appropriate place for posting?):
I noticed a noise a few weeks ago coming from exhaust and I've been told (reliably from a local garage and by tyrespot) there is "a crack in the manifold cat front pipe". Tyrespot quoted £600 to fix as they will need BMW part, although suggested that someone may be able to weld it?
Does anyone have any suggestions / further information to help?
I'm currently approaching the end of my 3 year PCP finance and due to change / hand back my Z4 in the next couple of months so would apprecaite any ideas to avoid wasting the £600 prior to giving the car back.
