Exhaust compatability

Hi

I am currently on the lookout for a full exhaust system for my E85 Z4. 3.0i manual.

What are the specifics for my requirements? Does it HAVE to be an exhaust off a manual or would one off an auto work? Somebody has told me that the 2.5l manual exhaust would also fit my car.
I also have somebody with an E85 3.0 exhaust but from an auto - would this work and be a good fit without too much adjustment from the garage?
I’m new to my z4 and sourcing parts for cars this old sold forgive me for any silly questions.

Reason for this is a back box delete of previous owner that I don’t care to keep. Too drony! There is some rust on the exhaust gaskets, not in great condition so they need banging out and a full replacement as opposed to just a back box. Im cool with that, just trying to source the right one!

Any advice greatly received. Thank you!

I know the M54 vs N52 exhausts have different flanges after the headers, but otherwise don't know if M54 3.0 and M54 2.5 are are a straight swap.

I've got the rear section of the exhaust (which is actually from somewhere under the gearstick in the car) in the shed from a 2003 2.5i I no longer need. I'm based in Shropshire, would need to be collection really I think. No headers/cats though.

Automatic and manual have different part numbers although I could not say what actual physical differences the two exhausts have. Its likely only mounting points but who knows.

Thanks for that although I’m going to need the full thing.
I think have a couple of options but they are slight variants and not straight from the same model as mine which is my issue.
The best option atm is a 3.0i auto, likewise not entirely sure if that is “right” so to speak. Easy life would be a straight swap out (and a cheaper life too 🤣)

Yes it seems a bit of a mystery to me atm. Garage have said straight swap would be ideal so that it keeps down the labour costs. That would also be my preference really just so I have what how it was originally was built. Hmmm 🤔

Thanks.
