I was lucky enough to have a quick go of a friend's Evora S at the weekend, and I'm bloody impressed.
It's plenty quick enough, 270bhp/ton versus 228 for the Z4MC. It shot up to 140 on a private road near me pretty quickly and with a gear left.
What really got me was the ride quality. It's stiff enough to still feel like a proper sports car (enough grip to make you laugh out loud around roundabouts), but the way it soaks up bumps + potholes is just witchcraft. I'd just finished taking the Z4 for a burn, and the comparison was amazing. I took it down a bumpy country road near me that would make the Z4 bounce about, but the Evora just glided across it. I can see why Evo rated it so highly.
It really shows that Lotus know a bit about suspension!
Downsides: 16mpg. Oh, and the price.
