Evolve Map + Eventuri Intake Decision......Help?

Hi All,

I need to decide whether to go ahead with this..... Has anyone had this work done by Evolve?

I know evolve are a great outfit but a quote of £1159 for an intake and remap seems a lot of money?

Please help me make this decision for you guys that have this setup as I have been quoted a 25-30bhp uplift......

Cheers, Stu

I'd be astonished if it was that much gain - bit of marketing going on there I reckon. I think they say 11-15hp with the map IIRC when looking to buy mine. The noise is epic, however, and whilst it is a pricey bit of kit, it looks the dog's knackers and sounds like it too. Not disappointed myself, although I didn't get a map/tune at the same time - I'm not that fussed about 10hp myself.

I got eventuri and the map done there. I am happy with the result. Sounds great and I saw a decent bhp gain. You have to be realistic with your expectiations. Noone needs these mods but it was a no brainer for me as the car is a keeper. I think I paid around 950 a year ago.

As others have said your paying for the epic noise and nice looking intake, if your happy with that then go for it, don't expect a bhp gain that is noticeable.

Ditto
Got blue one myself but to waste money upon a tune was a no no

I've heard OK things about these guys
But trust me
One or two phone calls and actually speaking to them put me right off having my car

wow, 25 to 30hp? if they give that to you on paper, its a steal. Sadly though 10-15 might be in the ball park.

Looking at my evolve map thread I see my car was producing 339 with the eventuri fitted on stock map. I have shrick cams too. They estimated it was already around 10bhp above stock from those pretune. The end result was 355 in very muggy conditions where we could see the ecu reducing the mixture and running lean to componsate. So for me 360 is likely in usual humidity conditions. So for the money I was well chuffed.

i like evolve ALOT but i wont lie, from what iv'e heard from members uk and state side, i would buy their products but i wouldn't let them touch my car.... not on your nelly. At one point i was going to re-tune with them but I threw that idea out the window after seeing numerous issues with their speed density tuning.

Hey Guys - thanks for all the feedback. I think that's made my mind up. Not going to bother with the remap tune....again when I called I wasn't blown away. Felt like they were very busy and didn't have time to discuss options with me....

I think I will get an intake just for the noise but will wait for one to become available on the forum.

After everything I have read remapping a Z4M just doesn't seem worth it.

To be honest it's the noise I am after.....but not for 1150 quid.

Cheers,
Stu

What bhp are you getting with all these mods?

Think he said 355 bhp...

Intake and remap is waste of money ....30bhp just isnt realistic.

Cams are the first thing to go for..

Even cams.. "bloody expensive to buy and install in these parts! We are plain quiet folk and have no use for adventures nor cams Nasty disturbing uncomfortable things! Make you late for dinner!”

Makes sense. I had to get the map done as I wouldn't get the full benefit of the CSL spec cams without it. If you are just looking for noise then get getting the intake is a good way to go.

Stujeffry...don't think it's a massive difference but for around 200-250 quid It could be worth while.
