I am on the verge of selling my Eventuri air box. I have listened to it in Spain and it’s too much. It makes me change up rather than hang on to revs. Nowadays I prefer a quieter car. Before chucking it up for sale here can someone proficient advise me how I remove it please? Yes bolts etc…. However specifically I am wary of removing what appears to be a bit of bmw from the box. It’s probably a MAF sensor. Can I just remove it, plug it back into the original air box and off we go? I really don’t want to upset what is currently a sweet engine by mucking up sensors and getting red lights all over the place. Thank you. Clive

It'll be the MAF sensor, just remove and fit it back in the original box. Be careful handling it, quite delicate and obviously don't touch the thin wire on the MAF itself. Your best bet would be following the install instructions (below) and working backwards. Easy job Clive with a few basic tools and as long as you have all the original bits from the standard airbox :) You won't upset the engine unless you damage the MAF.
An optional step would be to reset the adaptations for the engine as you'll likely have slightly different airflow with a standard box, not a big deal though, engine will adapt itself over time anyway and you'll need a diagnostic tool of some description to do it. So unless you already have one I wouldn't worry about it.

If you put it on the market please can I have first dibs depending on price. I have one but I have a friend that wants one. Cheers

I have one on the M but unless I push it , it almost sounds stock. Only higher in the revs does it come to live. I really like it.

PVR - mine is loud all the time from 3000 rpm and any reasonable throttle openings. I have to say I haven’t been in a stock car but I have been in several S54 engines z3ms and those were much quieter

Sounds like you may have an issue with yours.

Split hose or something along those lines?

Mine is fine - I just don’t like loud cars. I prefer a muted note really but I do like the mechanical whirring of the S54 which is so different from my B58 and N52

I previously asked for first option on this when you sell it as I had an interested friend. He decided to get married and no longer has the funds. So no longer interested.

He's better off with an Eventuri
