Just wanted to introduce myself ... first impressions are that this looks an excellent forum ...

Fairly certain i'll be trading my 350Z GT4 in for a Z4MC in the next 3 - 6 months, so will no doubt be spending the next few weeks reading up on 100's of threads and asking all the stupid newbie questions ... hopefully then i'll be able to contribute more to the forum (keen detailer so will hopefully be able to help out in that section!), and when i've got ownership / experience of the Z4MC.

Had a TVR T350C before the 'Z', and the Z4MC is the only car on the road I can compare in terms of 'head turning' appeal, out of the box speed, exclusivity, and with the added bonus of reliability (...plus the missus isn't keen on the idea of me getting back into TVR ownership!). The 350Z just doesn't give me the same sense of excitement and occasion when I drive it, despite the fact it's a very capable car, hence the plans to trade-up.

The old 350 ...

The new (and hopefully soon to be replaced) 350...

Welcome! Still a newbie myself :D

How weird..........I just traded my 350Z GT4 for a Z4MC just over a week ago!

I did consider a T350C - yours looks gorgeous, but its my only car and daily driver and I just wasn't brave enough to go for it. As you say the Z4MC was the only other car I could think of (and afford) that comes with the looks, performance, exclusivity and reliability you mention.

Unfortunately I've not driven it that much due to the recent bad weather but so far I'm lovin it.....

p.s. were you on the 350z-uk forum?

Suffer any rebuilds on the T350? Just curious to see if the Speed Sixes still have issues, as I had one (Tuscan S) and it had to go back twice in the space of 20k miles and 2 years....

Very nice though. And I've said the same thing about my Z4MC - if BMW had bought TVR when it went up for sale, I'm sure the Z4MC would have been the result!

Welcome to the forum.

I was going to get a Nissan 350Z instead of the Z4, but i think i made the right choice, your going to love it aswell...

Welcome

Nice TVR - never been sure about the Nissan.

You'll enjoy the forum and the ///M and look forward to detailing input

Boy that intro always reminds me of Dixon of Dock Green!

Welcome to the forum.

I too had a 350Z and found to be very capable but less fun. Remember the 'new lotus Elan with the Isuzu engine? Great specs but boring to drive.

I steered clear of TVRs as I felt you needed a constant sense of humour to own one as they were always breaking down. One friend always kept cigars in his Griffith 500 glove box so when he broke down he could get out and smoke so when by passers asked if he had broken down he could reply no, just stopped for a smoke!

Another friend spent over £13k on services in 18 months on his Chimera. No rebuilds or major parts swaps!!

Good luck on snapping up a bargain of a Z4MC but sorry for the 350Z depreciation.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys :)

Couple more pictures of the Tiv for the fans:

MarkW - I did spend a bit of time surfing the 350Z-uk forum, but can't remember if I ever registered / posted...!?!?

Sixspeed / Sceptre - TVR spent a reasonable amount of time back at the dealers (no more or less than an average TVR), and was finally chopped in when the half-time bearing went (not full engine rebuild but £2k+ worth of work) ... it's true about having to have a sense of humour, it's certainly an enthusiasts car. TBH if I could take it back tomorrow I probably would, but unfortuately work commitments meant I needed something a bit more reliable, and the Tiv - which was bought as a weekend 'toy' - unfortunately had to go :(

Herminator - Z4MC will almost certainly be a keeper ... feel like I chopped the Tiv in a bit prematurely so wont be making that mistake again!!
