European Tour 2012 – Fantastic Opportunity 1st - 9th June

Would love to have done this but already booked this years holiday.. Defo want to do this next year though.. Make sure you do loads of pictures and videos when you get back.

Pat, you keep on trucking on this one....not long now, once May is underway. Remember we need to buy a vest each (to be kept in the car!) bulb set etc etc.....

Are you letting your insurers know? Have you let the pikey bloke who lives in the caravan on the field near you, with the breakdown truck, you're going? :poke:

Don't forget your phrase books too!! :driving:

 , My insurance company all sorted , got the vest , found some euro breakdown cover for 21 quid. Just about to pay for the Swiz road tax thingy

Not sure you have to let insurance know, but I will. Not got anything yet. I get breakdown with my warranty, so that's sorted. What's this Swiss tax thing?

I am hoping for hot weather, so travelling very light...but lots of cleaning cloths, rapid detail, windscreen cleaner etc etc...

Need the Swiss thing to be allowed to drive on their motorways (and I think main roads too). Can buy it in Switzerland but easier to sort out in advance I guess - we've always just stopped and bought it at the border every year we've been though.

This sounds like an epic tour folks. Something I'd love to do in a car but unfortunately my interests lie elsewhere if I'm visiting the Alps. I'd go insane if I was over there, in amongst the mountains, and didn't have a mountain-bike with me! For that reason, my vehicle of choice for Alps tours is THIS :(

Swiss tax is only required if you drive on their motorways.

Spare bulbs are not mandatory, only recommended.

New Vid of last years trip has been added - Part 1

Excited and nervous at the same time!!! I'm driving straight to Graz from London via the ferry to Dunkirk. Anyone else done this in a day?? Scary but can't wait!!
